Like the old days. . .

So, today was pretty much awesome.

I was on overtime the whole day ("Whoohoo! Fwee Money!") and somehow the work day seemed to blow by pretty frickin' quickly. While on break, I met up with Nathaniel who offered to walk with me on the way to my house. While I never quite made it home, even though I only live about 7 minutes from THS, I had an even more incredible time enjoying the weather with the various people with whom we decided to stop and talk, including Randy and Shakti.

The definite, hands-down highlight of my whole break involved a couple friends of Shakti's coming over to say hi. One of them asked me if I was Patrick, to which I said yes and then, along with the collected group, became quizzical and asked if she'd heard of me or something. Suddenly, the young lady dropped to her knees and bowed down before me, as if in worship ("Damn," Randy replied, "girls don't even do that for me. . .") Turns out this young woman named Ashley knew of me from when I was dating Libby, as she was a friend of Libby's sister, Jenny. She recognized me by voice only (as she only saw me once, and back then I had long hair and a fondness for fedoras), and remembered the exact things I had said to her, which I just found damn impressive. The whole bowing down thing was just something that came to mind that she figured would make me laugh. I just gotta say Damn, I'm glad to know there are people like that in the world besides myself and a couple close friends. There aren't enough utterly random, open, unafraid people out there. . .

Actually, today brought back some of the fond memories of bumming around the Downtown Mall, hanging out, talking, and overall being a Mallrat. So, since tomorrow I'm already planning to meet two different people at two different times down there, I think I may very well spend the whole day Downtown, just to see how much has changed and how much is still the same. I probably won't turn this back into a regular thing, but then again, since I live so close I may very well decide I enjoy it again.

So, yeah, I have a day off tomorrow, and my evening, probably after 7, has a big womping nothing on schedule, so all of you that claim I work too damn much try to get in contact with me. I sadly admit, though, due to two Doubles Friday and Saturday, I will not be able to make it to Alchemy tomorrow night. My job is just too physically/mentally demanding for me to get no sleep the day before. Anyone who does go, though, better stomp some holes in the floor for me. Audiorapture will make it possible. . .
