Mandatory Pre-Show Entry

Am I dead? Did I die?

Nope. . . just need Tea. . .

Though the motivation-killing feeling of the Secret Stress Sickness returned at around 10 last night, and I managed to rip a big chunk of skin from my ankle, I'd say last night was overall very enjoyable. I re-met people who have now been added to my friends list, half because I'm interested in getting to know them better and half because maybe I'll actually remember their names now. The benefit went by with little-a-hitch, though I agree that there are some changes that need to be made. But since this was a test-night anyway, I think it got pulled off with quite a few less bugs than I expected.

And though tonight is going to be a lot bigger, as Xiane said, we pretty much know this crowd and what to watch for, so I'm thinking this will go just as smoothly.

Then there's the fact that I'm performing tonight. Little-known-fact. . . we are actually right on the heels of the one-year anniversary of my first performance at the Dawning, coincidentally as an opening act (but that's kinda expected for one's first performance), and it just feels weird. Last time I was just Patrick. Most people knew nothing about my music, and those that weren't there to see The Last Dance were there because they knew and liked me. Now I'm a part of Silent Muse. People come because they've heard our songs on Sub Shock and The Core, and get surprised when they find out I'm a part of it. In one year we have reached the point where we are opening The Dawning at its first event at its new home. We are sharing the stage with three of the best bands this state has to offer.

It's a great feeling, but it's pretty damned weird.

So, yeah, that's me this morning. I'm off today, which is fantastic, but have to double tomorrow, after staying up till balls-ass early, which kinda sucks. And before the show, I'm gonna go visit Mom in the Hospital and watch her favorite movie with her. In case you didn't hear, she doesn't get to come home anytime soon, since she's started spiking fevers already, before the treatment is done. However, it looks like she'll be fine for visitors, so feel free to stop by and relieve the monotony of a hospital. I'm sure she'll really appreciate it.
