Ups and Downs

So, Sunday night was exactly what the doctor ordered. Band practice went smashingly well, and I have no doubt that those that come to the Silent Muse show on Saturday will experience the music as well as listen to it and see us. I'm pretty sure the majority of the crowd will walk away pleased. Then I went to WNRN to visit Xiane during Subculture Shock and suddenly I'm "Guest DJ Patrick Allen of Silent Muse." I got to pick the music for most of the last hour, and that just made my night. So, for those who care, here is my Sooky Eccletic DJ Setlist of DOOM:

Silent Muse - Villains (In Tenebris Club Mix) [Hey, I had to advertise a bit before I started. . .]

Peter Murphy - Cuts You Up

Jaw - Creature of Masquerade (Apoptygma Berzerk Remix)

The Smiths - Frankly Mr. Shankly [And the listening population bursts into flames]

Bella Morte - Funeral Night [If you request Bella Morte from me, you will probably only get something off Remains, unless it's "Rain Within Her Hands," "Always," or a few scattered others]

Faith and the Muse - In These Dreams of Mine

Covenant - Like Tears in Rain

Dead Can Dance - Black Sun

[Xiane spins a couple requests]

Suspiria - The Frozen Ones

So, yeah. That pretty much ruled.

Yesterday was spent working, buying surprises for the show and sunglasses from Xiane at Coyote (with Jade there to help me pick out the perfect pair) and then I went and saw Matrix 3 - Boogaloo Blues Explosion with Cartwright. I'm not going to go into a huge review about the movie, because there are just too many self-righteous nutcases out there who might stumble upon it and try to make themselves look cool by bashing it (which seems to be the fad, nowadays), and I just don't have the time for that. I will say, though, that I liked it overall. The trilogy had an epic scope, and they captured the whole thing pretty nicely. And the scenes with the swarms of setinels were worth the price of admission right there. . .

However, today I am doing less than okay. Woke up sick again, which is not good with the show less than 5 days away. . . but I'm now heavily medicated, and as long as I don't blow myself out at work, I should be okay.

Here's hoping, anyway. . .
