Mr. Webster

For Christmas, I bring you all a couple definitions. Do with what you please.

Ignorance: The state in which someone is not presented with any other views or emotions, even if they have attempted to search them out, and so is unaware that their actions or inactions could possibly cause pain. Example: Johnny, in his ignorance of Cynthia's attraction to him that she had never displayed or mentioned, began dating Allison.

Stupidity: The state in which someone has been given proof or many opportunities to find proof of others situations, views, and emotions, and willingly ignores them while making decisions that will undoubtly cause grief, or simply refuses to consider or care that other views may, in fact, be out there. Example: Cynthia's stupidity shined through when she berated Allison in a crowd, trying to point out how lives had been ruined by her, when in fact no one had been hurt but Cynthia, and no one had hurt her but herself.

It is, indeed possible, that my own ignorance, stupidity, and pessimism may be behind my next statement, but I'm fairly sure that, at this moment, about 8% of the people I see at all these days, even in fleeting, are not stupid. I am waiting, hoping, and praying to be proven wrong.

However, I will say that I am having a decent Christmas, all things considered. I hope all of you are, as well. Much love to you all, no matter what definition you currently fall under. We're all there at some point. . .
